Yep it's been AGES since my last blog, but we're still rocking it out at a wide range of functions. It's a busy time in the countdown to December with many Christmas events. Then we take the stage on New Years Eve in the Octagon, Dunedin to celebrate the end of 2014 and welcome in 2015. Come down and join us!

We've had a busy year with corporate functions and weddings - it's been great fun, with constantly positive and appreciative audiences! Now gearing up for 2011 - I would really like to dabble around with some original material but time will tell...

Girl Friday 2010

Hey there! We're Girl Friday - a contemporary rock band that covers songs from the 60s through to current top 20 charts. We specialise in female rock artists, such as P!nk, Pretenders, Pat Benetar, Katy Perry, Lulu, Rhianna, to name a few. However we also have a strong male vocal repertoire, featuring songs from U2, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jet, Exponents, Dragon, Doobie brothers, and so on...

We have the luxury of strong vocal arrangements with three vocalists amonst our 5-team line-up. Our sound is based around two guitars together with bass and drums in rhythm section - a classic rock sound.

Our most recent gig was headlining in the Octagon this New Years Eve, playing to a crowd of over 10 000 people, and ringing in the new year, with fireworks to boot!!

We're based in Mosgiel, Dunedin (New Zealand) but we often tour through to Queenstown, Central Otago, and had the occasional trip to Auckland to perform. Our fee is based on location, but is very comparable to other bands.
